305's.... What Madness is this?!?

I ordered wheels today for my '98 stepside 2wd-- 20x10. Truck is stock except tomorrow I am having 2'' drop shackles put on to lower the rear to more level with the front. (I assume I should not need shims for the rear
end with this?)

I told the wheel guy my plan is 285/50/20 (don't really like the 275/45/20) and he suggested 305's! Would the 305's look too big on a stock 2wd?

The 305-50-20 are out! Just looked at some pics and they look too big for a 2wd.

It's down to 285-50-20 or
295-45-20

Saw some today, guy took a reg cab flareside 2wd and put a STX bumper and what looks like 20's from the ford motorsport catalog. I'd swear 20x9 or so and maybe 275's. It looked like Dodge Ram 20's with the same size tire, whatever that'd be. The truck looked great! I'd go with the 295's to be safe, but not too small.

I don't know about a 98 but I just orderd 22x9.5's for my 2006 and I'm going with a 305/40/22. I also have 2" drop shackles in the rear. I wanted 45 series tires but the guy at the shop said I may have issues with rubbing in the rear. I would get the widest tires you can fit. That's a bigger foot print for better handling and traction.

Think I will go with the 295/45/20....if they will fit.

I see there is apparently a tire branded as "Homaster"

Must be a big seller in the hood.

"Yo Yo Yo hook me up wit dem Homasters in 28'' for my 'Sclade' "
