Tire pressure
Tire pressure
Just bought a used Expedition (98) and the manual says to check the passenger door panel for the psi decal. It's not there!!! My tires are 285/70R17. Anyone know the psi or where else I can find it?

You don't have to check the tire pressure on the passenger door panel, especially since the truck is that old...I'm sure those aren't the original tires and could recommend a different pressure.
One the sidewall of the tire, really close to the rim, you will find where the tire will give you the max. air pressure. My truck's max is like 50lbs cold...I run 42lbs. I know my tires so I just keep an eye on the belly in the sidewall and air them up to whatever ride I want or to whatever kind of weight I'm towing. More weight, more air, but the weight will help your ride.
Probably more than what you wanted to hear, but I hope this helps.
Good luck..._motes

I have about 36-37 on average in my 265's, goodyear at/s LT's load range C tires, and that seems to be nice, 40 wore the centers faster than I thaught. Don't go by the tire, because it will say max, at least I never do.
