Brakes, bleeder nipple
Brakes, bleeder nipple
I replaced all brake lines on my F150 1996 and I was cooking with Lone Star Gas. got to the rear wheels and couldn't move the bleeder nipples, in fact, I snapped one off. I've been using a ton of drill bits and snapped off two extractor shafts, one is still in the nipple. Is it neccesary for me to yank out the axle shafts and to replace the backing plates just to get the nipples cleaned out? Design problem if you asked me.
Brakes, bleeder nipple, part deux
After digging further into the brake assy, I soon realized that the bleeder nipple was part of the brake cylinder and notwithstanding the fact that the whole mess needs to be changed out, all I had to do was get a new set of cylinders. Problem solved.
USE Deep Sockets
I always seem to get mine off..even the rear nipples on my 88 f150...use wd40 or similiar...and a deep socket......deep socket will give more torque..and also prevents slippage and boogering up your nipples!
