06 brake problems?? HELP

I have a 06 F150 2wd that I got in Dec 05. Shortly after I had it there was a recall on the ABS software. Took it in they did there thing. Since then the brakes do not operate like they did before. Truck feels as if it only has front brakes. step on the pedal and it feels like the front of the truck is going to hit the floor. Sometimes it does not seam like the truck is going to stop. Took it back to Ford. They took it for a test ride. Slamed on the brakes to check ABS worked fine. Put it up on the lift checked it out all OK. Left it felt like a new truck. For two days then back to the problem. I slammed on the brakes hard and it went back to a nice even stop. Then went away again. Back to Ford they bleed all the brakes. Still no good. Slammed on the brakes the other day front tires locked and left a nice skid mark. NO abs light. Its going back to Ford again. Anybody have this with there truck? Any ideas? Ford is stumpped! I am mad. Truck only has 5k on it. Its to the point that I do not even want to drive it. HELP

Ford brakes, Lemon Law

Remind the dealer of the Lemon Law. Three strikes, they're out.

You may be entitled to a cash settlement if the problem persists, or a new vehicle. Check out this:

Well I dropped it off at ford last nite. Told them too keep it as long as it takes to fiqure it out. Who knows if I will ever see it again? Not sure that I want it back unless they can fix it!! Maybe i will just leave it there and go get something else.

I think the same thing might be going on with my truck. However, it has only happend twice in 4k miles. I know I have big tires on it, but only for the past 1.5k miles. They work fine right now, but 2 times when braking, I have to put the pedal to the ground, and it keeps rolling, and takes awhile to stop the rig from a 40-50 mph slowdown. I turned the truck off after these incidents, and the brakes went back to normal.

I dont really want to take it to the dealer, because theyre just going to get in it and its going to work fine like it did today.

Anyone have this similiar problem occur?

If you have big tires you need to do a brake upgrade it makes a major brake difference if the tires are too big also ford won't even talk to you until it is back to stock they will look for any excuse to void warranty

The recall that was done on your truck has absolutely nothing to do with the mechanical portion of the braking system. Nothing.

You've probably got a faulty master cylinder. At this point, why don't you try another dealer?

All I know is the brakes were fine before they touched the truck. The problems started after that recall. Just seems funny that it started after that. Got the truck back last nite. Not real sure what they did. I know they have been talking with ford about what to do. The dealer tells me it is fine. Seems beter but I did not get to drive it too much. I will take it out today and see. I don't think I need to try a new dealer just a new brand! truck only has 5500 miles on it and its been in three times. This is the last time if it aint fixed I will just get rid of it and get something else. Not a Ford!!!!

I'm starting to think you're just trolling for attention. As far as that recall is considered, it has absolutely nothing to do with the mechanical portion of the brake system. All it is is a calibration update for the instrument cluster. Murphy might have decided to **** in your Cheerios the same day you had that recall done, but thus is life.

At this point, if your dealer is too inept to diagnose a simple brake problem, if you really have had three visits to your dealer and no resolve yet, then you need to call Ford Customer Service - the number is in your owner's manual - and/or try another dealership. Period. If you are unable to do this, then you're just as much a part of the problem as your current dealer is.

I can assure you that I am not trolling for attention. I do not do the "online Forum" thing. I was hoping that someone had a intelligent answer or a similar problem. NOT SOME A$$HOLE THAT WAS JUST LOOKING TO BE A JERK.

I never said that the recall had anything to do with the problem. Just thats when it started. I have no idea what the specifics of the recall were nor do I really care. I was just looking for some help!

As far as Ford goes they have been trying. I have nothing against Ford or the dealer. JUST THE TRUCK.

As far as Murphy pissing in my Cheerios. He did. The day a truck killed my wife and daughter. Ill give you one guess as to the cause?
Accident report states " CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE" ON THE TRUCK THAT HIT THEM.

So next time you want to go jump all over someone get the facts. Sorry if a brake issue is important to me.

I ain't the one being a jerk. Advice was offered to you about what to do, and instead of acting on it, you bitch and gripe about how this'll be the last Ford you'll own and so on. I even offered you a suggestion about what's wrong with your truck, from personal experience as a Ford certified technician. So who's being the ******* here?

At this point, it's obvious your servicing dealer doesn't want to/can't repair your concern, so it's time you brought more heat onto them, via Ford Customer Service. Failing that, try another dealer. Complaining on an internet forum over a suck *** dealer isn't accomplishing anything.

I too have a similar problem. My 05 supercrew 4x4 doesn't seem to want to stop. I am at 15k miles and my front rotors are warped. It seems that the fronts are doing all of the work (hence the extreme brake dust). The rear brakes don't seem to really dust. The rear rotors also have some of the original machining marks, while the fronts are grooved. It has been this way for the last 3000 miles (warped rotor). I can't seem to find the time to get to the dealer. Every time I take my truck in, they say they need it for about 3-5 days.

Regards!
