HELP...best break-in
HELP...best break-in
hey everyone im doing new front pads and rotors tonight as we speak i was hoping someone would reply before too late on the best break in procedure after replacing them? thanks
ok thank you very much... i just finished.. ya i kno i kno... wow long time.. but 24 pack and a tv in the garage... it took a awhile haha. i was planning to bleed them anyways before i drive it again but thanks for the quick reply! time to go back out there and well... prob watch tv ha.
well guys just to update i got the rotors and pads on and bled all 4 corners. took her for a test drive at midnight... it sounds...... LIKE NOTHING!!!
no more high sqeeling.. the old inside pads were pretty much gone and the back of the pads were falling apart.. for some reason the rotors came right off
i think when i had ball joints done they took it off and put anti sieze on. by the way i went with the brembo just solid rotors got them for $44 a peice and went with the hawk hps pads. i kno many of you have the pads out there and thanks for the recommendation. ill keep you updated on how the combo works
thanks again guys
P.S. recommend doing a brake job WITH OUT the beer and tv in the garage... it took longer then expected ha.

For optimum performance you should bed your pads each time you replace them.
Here's a good source for some info, it varies by manufacturer but are generally similar.

You can also google "bed brake pads" and you'll get tons of hits.

just to update. i put on brembo rotors, just the plain jane style, and hawk hps pads. have about 2k on them now and they work great! would highly reccommend them. i did the install my self and got the parts for about 200 shipped to my door.
