front brakes
hey everyone i was just wondering what grease you guys use on the front caliper sliders. im planning on doing rotors and pads this weekend. also anyone have any pics of their cleaned up sliders.
I may be wrong, but I've used high temp wheel bearing grease on sliders and pins on at least 3 dozen cars and trucks over the past ten years without a problem. If they're rusty I hit them with a cupped wire brush in the angle grinder or bench grinder and if they're really bad I replace them, they're cheap.
Anti-sieze on the slider and on the tab, to ensure liberal amounts, not too much though. Also, remember to bend the tabs on the slider so it doesn't slide as well, rather just the pad. Very critical step.
