New front Brakes..now they stop tooo quick???

Ok Guys I read every thread to see if anyone had the same thing...here we go..
changed the front rotors, pads, got rear adjusted, and now what I get is when I step on the break pedal lightly to commence braking the truck seems to want to come to a dead stop like I had stomp on the pedal...I hope Im explaining myself correctly??? any advise please let me know..before then the brake pedal went all the way down before you could feel the breaks engaging...now its the opposite the height of the pedal is ok but not the jerk stop thing It's got going.. .

Sounds like you got a good brake job!

Seriously, it seems by your description that prior to the brake job, your brake pedal traveled too far and now it's correct.

Well that's the thing it should be ok, and its getting better but to just lightly step on the brakes an have the truck just abruptly dead stop is not normal.. it seems like it locks up .. but like I said it's starting to feel better..so let's see what happens...
Thanks...

John.

so how far can you push the pedal down on the first press? Does it get even firmer after a couple presses?

Question

I have a 97 also and I wish I had that problem.
My pedal goes almost to the floor before it feels like its stopping.
I did my caliper paint job today (red) and found a small amount of brake fluid on one of the lines.
Doe's anyone know if braided lines might help and if so where do I get them.

Hey Guys.!!
What I have now happening is that when I step on the brakes the cab shutters some as it's stating to brake then it goes away. and it stops as normal.. why this is happeninng I don't know Does anyone have a clue.. I'm thinking it may be a rotor surface problem it was not doing that before..let now about this...
Thanks

John

A "shudder" often means metal on metal or least a very damaged surface. Sounds like you need to pull a few wheels (like four of them).
