The purpose of the add-a-leaf is to increase the rear ride height. It will stiffen the spring pack slightly.

For me, no purpose, just IMO, looks great ! As far as lift height, depends which one you buy. I had the 1.5 add a leaf installed after putting Autospring 2" levelers on front. Didn't like the front looking higher than the rear at all. This is a cheap, mellow, suspension lift setup for these trucks and I cannot notice any difference in ride quality, plus doesn't look bad at all with stock 18" rims/tires. Definately will do it again on my next one. And when I need new tires, I'll go just one size up to the bfg all terrain 285's.

A 2.5 inch leveling kit will make the front end a half inch higher than the rear. The add a leaf kit raises the rear about 1 inch higher than the front giving the truck a better look and stance. it also increases the payload and reduces squating when loaded. There is very little difference in the ride qualityand worth the the price of around $250.00 installed.

So if you go with a 2.5" leveling kit what size add a leaf should you go with? I have the 2.5" kit and it sits about 3/4" higher in the front than the rear. Not real noticable to me, but if I can level'er out I'd like to. Thanks
