Question about heavy spots AFTER Road Force
Question about heavy spots AFTER Road Force
I'm running 305/55/20 Toyo Open Country ATs on 20 x 8.5 Weld wheels. I have never been happy with the ride (I'm picky), and feel that they vibrate too much--much more than factroy 18s. I had them road forced at Discount Tire, they are off 32-52 lbs, i.e. have heavy spots. The guys there said it was because they were so big, and I did not buy the tires there, which they knew, so there was no incentive to lie. They did not suggest these were out of the ordinary. Is this normal? They have less than 2000 miles, and I wonder if it is teh size or what. Wpuld I be better off with 275/55s or
285/50s? Thanks
285/50s? Thanks
Heavy spots on tires
Find a tire store to balance the tire and wheel heavy spots to offset each other for reduced vibration (there's a technical name but I can't remember it). Also, I am searching for a "steering damper" (shock mounted on steering rod) for my 2006 F150 FX4 with 33x13.50x18 Pro Comp AT's. There is a company that builds an on board automatic tire balancer that works well, but it will not be out for the 2006 model for 2 months. I did'nt write the name down (like a dummy), but use a search engine on your computer and you'll find it. I've got my local shop that lifted my truck looking for a steering shockthat can work.
