Needing some help with tires .....

I live in Southern WV and have a 2002 f150 fx4 triton v8 4x4 extended cab. I hardly ever do any off road riding if any at all in the Blue Bit_h ! lol I currently have the regular ol goodyear wrangler rt/s in the 265 70r 17's. I have wanted to go to a 285 70 r 17 forever but recently decided against it due to gas prices and changing of gearing and wear and tear I have heard about. Now I am looking at getting either the Goodyear silent armor or the Bridgestone Dueler Revos in the 265 70 r 17's. Any suggestion on which is the best ... I live in pothole and railroad track heaven and the roads get a lil rough at times so I want a quieter ride and of course durability and a tire that will last. Snows arent as bad around here as they used to be either so let me know if anyone has heard anything at all on the differences in these tires and what I should go with .
Thanks Jay

The Bridgestones are excellent tires, but the Gooyears are getting good reviews also.

I would take a look at the Cooper Discoverer ATR , they ride great and are quiet on my 97 4x4

out of those 2, I would pick the Revos. They have a little more history. Have you looked at the BFG A/T?

I have had Bridgestone Revos for over two years now - you can't even tell they are worn any. Just got back from a Sturgeon/Salmon fishing trip in the Columbia River (Portland, OR) and the only negative is at high speeds they are kind of noisy. At lower speeds you really don't notice the noise. These tires might be the best in quality and wear both on and off road that I have ever used. Understand that in 17 inch they now offer an LT - when I got mine they offered only a P rating. In any event, they are really good tires. Mert

I had the Revos on my Excursion. Great on the freeway and decent tread pattern for light off road. Unlike the BFG AT/s they have a center tread that helps on the freeway.

But you cant go wrong with the BFG A/Ts or the Bridgestones.

Since you dont do offroad driving very much, Im going to suggest the Michelin LTX M/S, great on-road tire, quiet, lasts virtually forever (90k-100k miles seems pretty common).

The Bridgestone REVO is also a great A/T tire, nothing wrong with it.
The BFG AT is also a great one.
You really cant go wrong with either of these...
