Brakes

Hi all, I have a 2004 FX4 SuperCrew 4x4 and think its time for front brakes as I now have K and it seems to be in need. These trucks are very heavy so I have always felt that the braking system was inadequate but now that I am ready, does anyone have any recommendations on pads? I do mainly highway driving and tend to pull a boat several times a year, one long trip per year. Thanks!

Brake pads

I work in a Lincoln/Mercury dealership and I can tell you to stick with Ford pads (factory pads), this pads are not to be confused with Motorcraft. Ford pads work best in trucks and SUVs. Motorcraft in cars.
Aftermarket pads will be cheap, yet they will chew the hell out of your rotors plus there is always the chance of the annoying brake squeal.

I've always gone with Carquest (Raybestos) blue pads with cut Ford rotors, no problems here. Also, they make less dust by far and stop a hair better, in my opinion. Ford pads are very good too, as long as your not road racing at mid- ohio or something! Either one in my opinion here!

I was thinking of ceramic, what are your thoughts on that?
