31x10.50 and Gearing....

I've got a 91 f150 4.4 5.0 V8 which I am going to be putting a 4" lift on with wither 31's or 32's. my question is, whill I have to re-gear with the new tires? When I did the same thing with my ranger i never re-did the gearing and it was okay... but it was only 2wd... any help?

Do you have any idea what gear ration you currently have? I'm not to familiar with the older F-150's but here is an example of mine... I have a 02 4x2 that came stock with 3:55LS and 275/60/17 which I think is somewhere close to a 30" tire... I replaced those with 285/70/17 which is about a 33" tire. I noticed some sluggishness but I have a 4.2 V6 also. I plan on changing my gears to a 4:10 or even 4:30 ratio. I think the only problem you will have is your speedometer will be off. To sum up, I would first find out what gear ratio you currently have and go from there. Here is a chart that helped me in deciding what gear ration would be best for me. http://www.s-series.org/htm/calc/ratiotable.htm I'm sure some of the more experienced guys will give you additional or better advice soon.
