Question ABS Light

HI,
How can I get this to go off? is there a wire I can take off to make this annoying light stay off?? I know there is some sensor on the rear, but dont know to much about that and how to do that, is it hard to change??

I mean I have a service engine light that comes on and off and this stupid ABS light that is on and I am at a loss...

I have a 2000 ford f-150 and it runs and sounds great the only thing that bugs me are these dang lights...

Thanks,
Amy

Your 2000 should have 4 wheel ABS. The light indicates a problem with the system, keeping the ABS system from functioning. Think of it like the check engine light for the brake system. It could be caused from a variety of things. Yoiu should be able to have someone pull the codes for the brake system and let you know why it has come on. Have them pull the codes and reset the light. Let us know what they read for codes and maybe we can point you to a fix. Some parts places will pull codes for free. Prob. not a good idea to ingore for too long.

The 2K could have either system.

The RABS codes can be pulled manually.

If 4WABS, you need an ABS-capable scanner which no parts store will have.

The ABS light cannot be "reset". YOu have to fix the problem, then the computer has to reset the light.

If the ABS light is on, it simply means you have normal brakes with no ABS assistance.

I've discussed ABS systems several times in the past. If you search for then using my username, you can see several previous discussions that describd them.
