The wheel thread

Looking to get some 20" maybe 22" wheels on my 98 Expedition 4X4. My question is will I have enough clearance to run that size wheel/tire combo? I have no idea what size tire I'll use so could you guys recommend some good tire sizes and maybe psot pics if you guys have 20" or 22" wheels on your truck..

Thanks

99 4x4 with 20s

Here is a picture of my 99 4x4 with 20x10, with 305/50/20 Toyos.

I had VERY minimal rubbing witht he 20s, only at a full crank, in reverse.

There here are some 23x10s with 305/40/23 (had no rubbing at all with these, but I did swith to a Roush front bumper cover, so that may have had something to do with that)

ge2- Very nice Expy. That last picture you posted those are 23's??? 20's are looking too small, but I just may have to settle for some. I might be buying a set of the F-150's Harley edition rims.

Any others?

Yes, 23s

In that bottom pic. That all black pic was before lowering.
Here is the same 4x4 after a 2/2 (actually closer to 3/4.5) drop.

I ended up going to 24s on my new 4x4 expy though.

Cost

Boy, I sure wish I could answer that, but I have no idea. It was so long ago for both those 20s and the 23s.

A quick search of SBT.com tells me that the 20s (Foose Spank 5) and 305/50/20 Toyos are running about: $2992

The 23s (Foose Spank 6) and 305/40/23 Toyos are: $4792

SBT is typically a decent mark to compare to pricewise, but I be you can find them cheaper than those prices.

Enjoying it so far.....

but I don't have the gumption to create yet another gallery on yet another site, so I'll just hope these kind folks believe me that I own a Ford.
