On my past cars I never used windex but used a foam glass cleaner that worked great.

Dirtex works well on chrome! I've used windex as well. Make sure you use a polish after to make the chrome "pop"!

Any of the popular "wipe and shine" products that are out now will work better and easier on the surface than glass cleaner. Meguiars and Eagle One are two of my favorites. I personally would never use glass cleaner on anythin but glass...but I'm pretty **** when it comes to my vehicles.

I also use a foaming glass cleaner. It works very well.
