Ok I have a new 06 f150 HD model 4x4 with the 7 lug painted steel wheels. I have found a set of 7 lug chrome frod OE takeoffs from a 97 f250 LD truck. Price is right and wheels are in great shape complete with chrome center caps and lug nuts. Question is.....is my new 7 lug pattern a match for those off a 97 and is there any brake caliper clearance issues with these going on my truck? I think these chrome wheels with a fresh set of 285-70-17 Cooper stt's would really make this truck look more like a 4x4. Gordon

 

I just found out that the chrome wheels are 16". Thay are 7 lug but in 16" not 17". Will they fit in place of my 17's or no? Someone has to know! Gordon

 

No they won't fit. Even with the lower GVW F150s 04 and up, the smallest wheel that will fit is 17".

 

Yep, a 16" wheel will not clear the brake calipers on your '06.
