Question rim interchangeability?

I have a '97 Expedition with stock steel 16" rims. I would like to upgrade to aluminum rims but new aftermarket are too expensive. What years of F-150's and Expeditions can I use wheels from? I have smaller studs than the '99-up trucks if I've read the threads here correctly. Anybody know what the offset on my stock wheels is? Thanks all.

Your OEM wheels are 16x7 with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing. You can use wheels from 97-02 Expy's and 97-03 F-150's. Just use lugnuts for your model truck.

Thx. Are all the wheels the same size as far as the stud holes go? I notice my wheels fit pretty loosely on my studs.

Yes, the OEM wheels are hub centric, meaning they are centered on the hub. Most aftermarket wheels are lug centric, meaning they are centered on the studs.
