Tire Pressure Question

I've read many threads about pressure. I have not seen many posts about the new 05's FX4's with the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires. Mine came from the factory with these tires. The door sticker says 40psi. When I was driving with that pressure it felt like I was driving a truck with no suspension. Right now I'm running 37psi and what a difference. Is this a bad pressure to run. I know my fuel economy will suffer a little but I'm not under-inflated am I. I didn't look at what the max press on the tire says, but I would rather have riding comfort than just little better fuel economy.

You might get more outside tire wear, but I'd say 37 psi would be just fine to run.

If you are going to tow or carry a load, I would bump them back up. Underinflated tires can cause overheating of the tire. This can result in tread seperation or a blowout. Also excessive wear on the outsides of the tread.
Something else you may notice with the lower inflation is more lean on cornering as the sidewalls will not be as stiff.
