Need tire help.

I have a 2004 XLT F150 Scab 4x2. I will be needing tires soon. I think the factory Hankooks that came on it are okay, and was considering the same name for replacements, but realizing the wealth of knowledge on this forum, I thought this would be the place to go for some recommendations as to other brands.
I need street tires for everyday driving in a Southern climate. Also, how big can I go with the stock wheels without any mods. Any help? Thanks.

I've seen several 4x2's fit 265/70-17's. However most tires in that size are off road style tires. If you want an all terrian, the Bridgestone Dueler AT's, Nitto Terra Grapplers and Toyo Open Country AT would be good choices. The perform excellent on the highway as well as off road.

I'm putting a lift on my truck on the 27th and will be selling my stock rims/tires.
They are 18's.
Let me know if you're interested!

If you like the factory Hankook's, I'd suggest you go to an aftermarket tire place and buy yourself another set that were taken off a new truck for custom rims and tires. A fair number of these trucks get driven directly from the dealer lot to the aftermarket tire place, leaving a set of factory tires with about 16 miles on them!

Easily the cheapest way to go to purchase a perfect useable set of (nearly) new tires!
