Wheel & Tire Sized on Lifted '97

I know this has been asked a lot, but I need some numbers.

I have a '97 F150 (std cab, shortbed, 4.2L V6, 5 spd). I am putting on a Performance Access. 3" body lift and a Skyjacker 6" susp. lift.

Should I go with 37x12.5 or 37x13.5 or bigger??
Also, I am most likely going to get 16" or 17" wheels -- so...What backspacing should I go with? and should I get 16x8 or 16x9, etc??

I'd go with a 10 inch wide wheel with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing for sure. As for size, I'd go with a 37x12.50 at least. I've seen 38x15.50's fit with that combo, so anything between those sizes would look good. What gears are you planning on running?

What has to be done to fit 38x15.5 ? (I'm doing 4.88 gears)

Also, what brand and model of tires do you guys suggest? I'm trying to keep the cost of the tires as close to $1000 as I can.

to fit 38" 15.5" you need a 6" and 3" body, must crank the torsion bars all the way(3 threads showing) trim some from the front valance and trim the nub off the lower control arm, and just a little triming of the front wheelwells at the rear bottom, you do all this you can fit 38" 15.5" (or at least i can) i get no rubing driving in the city and only once and awile offroading at off camber hard turns, good luck
