Question New Tires...

K so what are the best tires for the money. I dont wanna be buying pro comp cause i think theres better tires and they are WAY overpriced. Im looking for a 35 tire on a a 16 or 17 inch rim. I need good mileage, good on-road and great off-road for mudding and situations like this. http://www.n-fab.com/viewer.asp?/pro.../Full/0995.jpg

If you want a mud tire, I'd suggest the BFG MT KM, Goodyear MTR or Toyo Open Country MT. If you want an all terrian, I'd suggest the BFG AT KO, Toyo Open Country AT or Nitto Terra Grapplers.

You don't want the baja's. I tried that route once, ran into nothing but negatives. That truck looks to have BF Goodwrench All Terrains on it. Good tire, relatively soft though (wears out quick, but sticks like glue!) I had a set of BFG Trail TA's once, and you could get those things to stick to anything, but they wore out in like 15000 miles (of course, I was 17)

A great inexpensive mud tire is the Maxxis Buckshot Mudder. Its all but identical to the BFG MT tire, but it costs less, has a 6 ply sidewall, and for what it is almost no road noise. I have had several sets of them on my last few jeeps, and was always very, very happy with them.

Remember, there is a lot more to a tire's performance than tread pattern. As for BFG's wearing quickly, I have over 40,000 miles on mine and fully expect to get at least another 20,000 out of them. Tires are one of those things where you tend to get what you pay for.

I also disagree with the statement that the BFG A/Ts wear out quickly...I have 30,000 on mine, with plenty of tread left.
