Question Wider tire on stock rim?

right now my tire size is the stock 235/70/16. from what i understand, 255/70/16 would be wider, not taller, correct? can i put these tires on my stock rims without any trouble?

well, after doing some research, i think i would need a 255/65/16 to be wider and the same height. 70% of 235 is 164.5, and 65% of 255 is 165.75, so that is pretty close. anyways, is it ok to go wider?

im assuming its a 2 wheel drive truck because of the smaller tires size your running now....but yeah you shouldnt have any problem running the 255/70/16 they willl be both taller and wider...and it would probably make the truck look better..im running 265/70/16 on my 4x4 but i want 285/75/16 goodluck
