stopping the rolling 20"s???

How big of a wheel can you put on a stock '4 F150 set up before you need to upgrade the brake system. I know a lot of people just start slapping on the big rims, but I'd rather not lose my "function" for "form". Is 20" as big as you can go, or can you squeeze by w/ 22"? Thanks for any input before I step out of bounds & have to replace warped rotors!

I have 22's on our 05 Expy without any brake upgrades. I am happy with the braking performance. When the stock pads go, I will at least upgrade to ceramic brake pads.
