New Tires

Well, I decided on some tires that I want. I have a 2000 F-150 Lariat 4x2 with the 5.4 V8. The tires I want are the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrains in size P285/70R17. I have a few questions for you guys if you don't mind.

First of all, do you think this size is too large?

And, I looked on Tiresavings.com and they are $198 each...I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find any cheaper. I'm not loaded. I'm looking for them around the $130 each range.

And last, does anyone have any pictures of an F-150 with these tires on it?

Thanks a lot.

If you are not gonna lift the truck, I'd stick with a 265/70-17. I've seen 285's on stock 4x2's and the wheelwells just look too stuffed.

I have an 02 F-150 Sport XLT 2wd. I just put on BFG AT KO's LT285/70R17 on my stock rims with stock suspension. It does look a bit stuffed but will fit. I do have slight rubbing when I turn the wheel all the way. 6" RCD lift will be in next week however. I will try to post pics tonight of my tires with the stock suspension.

My 97 F150 4x4 didn't have any problems at all with 285s on stock rims. I also had 285 M/Ts on before my current A/Ts. After awhile the tires (M/Ts) became unbearably loud and they wore terrible. M/Ts do look nice!! Keep them rotated and good luck.

Does this mean that size tire will hinder my steering ability? Because I don't want to do something I'll regret later....

How long before the M/Ts wore out? How many miles?

Thanks again.
