I have an '01 F150 with factory alum 5 spoke rims and after several years, the gloss finish has faded because of harsh cleaners I have used. Is it the clearcoat finish that has faded? Can the finish be polished using an electric buffer? Thanks,

 

It's worth a shot. If you used harsh cleaners, the clearcoat may be destroyed completely.
