I replaced my fronts @ 40k and rears at about 43K so you got what they are good for.

I have 112,000 on original factory pads and rotors. 2003 F-150 SCab. Mostly highway miles. I don't stop often. Probably goona change them by end of year.

Ford rep says NO to ceramics. Rotor won't last 30K???

For those that have changed out their pads.
What material brake pad did you use, how many miles on the replaced pads and what is the condition of you rotor????
I have talked with a Ford SM @ Santa Margarita Ford and he states that @ 30K the rotors will be significantly worn down with ceramic pads.
Trust with verification is my moto.
Brand, material, miles and type of driving information needed.

Best Regards,
Frank

I changed my f/r brakes at about 50,000 miles and still had a little under half the pad material left. I put Duralast Gold pads from Autozone on my truck and haven't had any problems.

It would vibrate (shimmy) when I first applied the brakes for about 500 miles after the brake change. But it cleared up (the pads need time to seat with the rotor), and now my brakes are smooth as silk, they stop quicker, and have less brake fade than the stockers. :santa:

I replaced the front pads on my Screw at around 40,000. I don't do a lot of stop-n-go driving however.

Just about all of our commute is highway miles. We generally average at least 40K miles or so before the pads start getting low enough to worry about. I've got almost 30K on my truck and still have almost 10mm worth of lining left on the front.

My first set on my Lightning only lasted 4500 miles Pretty sad right. I actually had several cracks right through the rotors . Never seen nothing like it in my life. On the positive side my F-350 S.D goes 45,000 on ford pads. Tried aftermarket on it but never got better than 10,000. Stick with ford pads, theyre the shiznit!
