Wandell or anyone else.. opinions are needed,

I am having trouble figuring out what whehter I should put a load range "B", 4 ply tire or a load range "C", 6 ply on my truck. My truck has a 6500 GVCW. Currently I may haul a load of firewood, mulch etc. in the bed and I do not do any towing. In the near future I may be towing a small pop up or self contained camper.

Any input would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

I think most of your responses are going to be put a LT (LR C, D, or E) tire on there, not a P (LR B) series tire. I have never felt that the P series tires, even the extra load, are heavy enough for a pick-up, especially when loaded. Too much flex in the sidewalls, in particular. They might ride better when unloaded, but the LTs will definitely handle the loads better.

C range/6ply should be the minimum on a truck; with or without towing anything. Why some trucks come with anything less is beyond me.

Thanks for the replies.... I was leaning towards getting the C range tires anyways, but I had 2 out of 3 dealers ask me what was currently on the truck, which is B range tires. The third one asked whether it was a 150 or a 250 and said that you want the C range.
