Will this work?

I currently have 235/70/16s on my stock 2001 2wd. I want beefer tired to go along with my 3 inch lift. but i cant find 285s in the 70. so would 285/76/16 work on my stock rims?
does the 70 vs 75 make that much of a difference?

285/75-16's (33x11.50) would be a good choice. I have never seen a 285/70-16, which woud be a 32x11.50-16 tire.

I know that 255 70 r16's will work for sure because they were an "upgrade" option on our trucks. You're going up 30mm from that, which is 3cm or 1.2 inches width wise - not all THAT much. If you want a second opinion, call the people who will be installing them.

Wandell helped me score a good deal on some 275 55 r20's that I am going to have on my truck by the end of the week. I bought these puppies without putting them on my truck because, if W says they will fit, they will fit!!

The OEM 16 inch wheels are 7 inches wide, which is fine for a 285/75-16 tire.
