Question Mud & Snow rating on ice?

If a tire is mud & snow rated, does the snow portion of the rating also mean the tire is good on ice?

M+S means it fairs well in all conditions, even ice. Other M+S tires , like the BFG A/T have the RMA mountain/snowflake in addition to the M+S, making it superior in severe winter weather Vs. other all season tires.

Question FoxtrotOneFifty

Does the load rating / # of plies have any impact on how a tire performs in snow and ice? For example; would a stiffer tire (8 or 10 ply) react differently than a softer tire (6 ply)?
