Tire Size Question.

I am looking at possibly puting a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires, size P285/70/R17 on my stock 17inch wheels on my 00' F150. I have been doing a little reading in the threads on this site and have found some that say this size should clear everything just fine and others say that they won't. I am just wondering if they will for sure. My stock tire size is P265/70/R17; during the summers I run a set of 285/60/R18 which are mounted on chrome wheels so in the winter I run my stock wheels but I am at the point where this winter I am going to need a new set of tires on the stock rims. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Since you say the stock size was 265/70-17, I assume your truck is a 4x4. The 285's will fit easily with room to spare using the stock wheels. Heck, several members have fit 315/70-17's on stock 4x4's by using the stock wheels.
Also, welcome to the site.

wandell -

Thank you for reassuring me on this. I appoligize for not including the specifics of my truck in the first post... I added the signature after I had already started typing the post and assumed the sig would have been attached but apparently not. Do you think these are good tires choice for the snowy and icy conditions of MN winters?

Thank you for the welcome to this site!!

I can only tell you that I have read that the BFG's perform well in snow and ice since I have no real world experience. Heck, it's usually shorts and t-shirt weather at Christmas time down here.
Also, nice truck!

Thanks!! I wish I didn't have to mess with winter (salt) but oh well I must leave here for some reason! I really like the look you have going on both your vehicles but I really like the more aggressive look on the SCrew. I have debated getting different rims to change the offset on my wheels in the winter but I think am going to wait another year before I do that. Thanks for all help and the feedback on my truck. I'll keep you posted on the truck pics... when I get the new tires for this winter!! Thank you again, I really do appreciate all the help.

Tire Size Question

I Have An 03' F150 Regular Cab, The Truck Is Basically Stock Except For The 265/75/16 All Terrain Tires. I Was Wanting To Crank Up The Torsion Bars To Fit A Bigger Size Tire. Im Also Going With An After Market Wheel Combination, But Still Staying At The 16" Size.
Is It Possible To Fit 305/75/16 Under The Truck With Out Rubbing.
I Would Appriciate Any Information On This, Thanks

If your truck is a 4x4, you can fit a 305/70-16. If you use a 10 inch wide wheel you will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance.
