just changed raer drum, a line, sprinds, shoes and bleeder valves what do i do to get the shoes to center, i was told to have it on jacks then spin tire and adjust spring from the back slot until there is obvious drag...is this true or does going in reverse fix it?

I have done mine like this for the past 30+yrs. Once everything is installed, pads, springs etc. put the drum on, tire and have brake tool in hand, put the tool in the rear drum, spin the tire and adjust the star wheel until there is a little drag while turning, stop, replace the rubber plug and you r done. when u back up they will adjust themselves.
