wheel loose
wheel loose
I have a good question I have a 2001 2wd f150 54,000 miles
. Two years a go i noticed when i jacked up the front end one side ( to rotate the tires) the whell had top and bottom play, very little like 1/16 of a inch, so i called my uncle who was a previous mechanic and said not to worry ford trucks do that, now after two and a half years I was told today to check it cause lug nut bolts streatch or could be wheel bearings( this was told to me from a co-worker) so i jacked one front side up and checked it still has the same amount of play, and tires have no funny or wierd wear pattern and when i drive at all speeds there is no vibration or shimmy or anything, should i be concerned??

the wheels are not loose
there is a certian amount of "play" that is allowed in the ball joints when the wheel is jacked up
its normal
when you get the truck inspected they check for that
not to worry
...zap!
