For Wandell and anyone else
hey man, i was just wondering, when you put on the 285's on your stock height truck you didnt have to cut the front valance at all? and if i go for the 305's you dont think they will rub at all, and when everyone speaks about rubbing what usually rubs
285's will fit without trimming, and the 305's should as well (on the stock wheels). If you put 305s on with a wider wheel, you might get some rubbing.
Most of the time, for the size tires you mentioned, rubbing would only invlove the valence.

Right, the key is the wheels. I first installed my 285/75-16's on the OEM 16x7 wheels and they were not even close to touching anything. Then, I mounted them on a set of 16x10 Eagle Alloy 058's and they touched the corner of the front bumper's lower valance. I had to trim about a 1/2 inch of plastic off for clearance. Wheel width and backspacing are as important to fitment as tire size.
