Brake Rotor Replacement

Anyone have experience replacing the front rotors on a 97 F-150 4x4? Is it necessary to remove the nut in the center of the hub? Just seems like they would pop off, but i coulnd't get them to budge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cut um off (2 cuts ) just short of hub and crack them off with big hammer. Search posts for rotor rust, no nuts, just rusted on . Mark

You don't remove the hub nut. They are supposed to just come off after you take the caliper bracket off.

Mine needed the aid of a rubber mallet to get them off however. I also used a regular hammer and tapped the rotor in a circular pattern between the studs.

I've also prepped my rotors for changing over the years by making sure they are "loose" when I do tire rotations.... When I take the front tire off, I check the brakes and also give the rotors a 'wiggle' to make sure they are not seized on the hub.... Seemed to work for the time I needed to finally take them all the way off!
