Thunk & Clunk when depressing Brakes *Newbie*
To start out with I have a 2000 F150 V6 4.2L 2WD. I recently changed the front brake pads and turned the rotors. I never changed the rear brakes. I'm not sure if I have brake drums...or Discs or whatever...that's b/c I've never done rear brakes before.
Anyways.. my problem is when I depress my brake pedal I hear one LOUD clunk sound. Its not a squeek. It's definitely a clunk. But it only happens when I press on the pedal. It's been happening even before I changed the front pads and turned the rotors. I'm thinking it might have to do something with the rear brakes. Before I do anything I would like to know anyones thoughts on what this clunk sound might be... Thanks

Could be a number of things. Worn pads, warped rotors, loose parts. Hard to say until you break it open. Changing the rear brakes is any easy task. Rotors are a little stubborn perhaps, but a few light taps with a hammer and they loosen up. Mine were done at about 70K.
