Question about new rims and tires

I have a 2001 f150 that still has the ugly stock rims, i am not sure about how to decide on the biggest rims i can get without having to go too big, and the fact that i have not put a lift kit on it yet is making my choices confusing. If anyone has any advice on the size please let me know.

Are you wanting big street styled wheels like 24's?

Those tires and rims that are on your truck look pretty good, what size are those?

They are 16x10's with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing. The tires are 285/75-16 (33x11.50) BFG AT KO's. I would go with a 305/70-16 (33x12.50) tire however. I would have, but BFG didn't make a 305/70-16 in 2001. You will have to trim a little bit of plastic off the front bumper's lower valance to run this combo on a stock 4x4 but they will fit.
