285/75/16 on '97 4X4?

probably a redundant question...but will they fit on my stock rims without any lift? according to my dad, the guy at the local tire shop said 255 was the biggest i could go on my stock rims or else the the tires would crown/warp back when the my previous set of tires were being mounted.

i'm looking for a little more beefier look and quality than my multi-mile 255/60/16's i have on now. thanks fella's...

285/75's will fit easily on your 16x7 wheels.

You can fit 285s just fine.
And the Nittos are a great choice.

will the 285's hang out past the fender much? also, will i need to make any air pressure compensations to adjust for the bigger tires?

I run 285/75 R16's on my 00 4x4 Scab with no mods whatsoever. You'll have no trouble and then don't stick out at all. 100% perfect fit.

i have the 285/75-16 bf goodrich on my 00 4x4. i run them about 40 psi instead of 35. no unusual wear or anything and turning is a lil better then it was with 35.

My friend installed 285/75/r16 on a 2000 F-150, BF Goodrich All Terrain, and they look great, no lifting required, but the front tires sometimes hit the side wall when you do a full turn.
