tire size

I have a 97 f150 extended cab long bed. i was planning on buying new tires soon and was wondering if anyone has been able to put on 33 in tires 11.5 wide on a 16 by 8 inch rim. if anyone has done this please let me know how it worked out. If anyone has gone bigger or found out the biggest they can go with stock suspension no lift and stock rim please let me know too. thanks for anyone knowing anything.

If you have a 4x4, you can fit a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) on a stock 4x4 by using the stock 17x7.5 inch wheels and cranking up the torsion bars. This is the absolute largest tire you can fit on a stock 4x4 and it is an extremely tight fit. If you are not gonna lift the truck, I'd suggest sticking with a 33 inch tire like a 33x12.50-17 or 305/70-16 or 285/75-16.
