Procedure for Speedometer/Odometer Calibration
OK. I am going to put 265/75/16's on my 01', XLT, 4X4 w/ a 5.4L.
I need to know how to get my speedometer and odometer in spec. I keep meticulous records of my MPG and trips etc. I need to be able to calculate all this when I put the new tires on.
What gear do I need to buy to get the programmer/chip etc.?
What are my options when it comes to this? I'd rather buy the gear and know how to do it tahn pay to get it done once.
If there is a link that already outlines all this, let me have it.
Thanks for the help.

You can buy a programmer that will reprogram the PCM for the new size tire. You dont have to buy gears like the older trucks.
If you are referring to regearing the rearend, then I would say dont really worry about that, 265s are not a big jump from the stock tire size so thats not really necessary.
