Anyone know what the backspacing of the stock 18" FX4 Wheels is? I know they are 18x7.5...

I heard of people fitting 325/60/18 and even 35/12.50...

Im just wondering if that spacing is perfect to stay with in case I was to buy some aftermarket wheels or if I should go with a different backspacing. I dont plan on lifting my truck for the next year or so and am pretty satisifed with the leveling kit, I just need some nicer tires to match...

People say I cant fit those size tires mentioned above when Ive seen pics on the forum. Whats the disadvantages of mounting them anyway? I know manufacture site says at least 8-8.5 width minimum...how are these folks able to fit them?

backspacing is 5.5 I believe.

Yoman is right. The backspacing on the factory wheels is 5 1/2 inches. I'd try to stick close to that if you go to an aftermarket wheel. Usually, running too wide a tire on too narrow a wheel will cause the center of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal. Similar to the wear you would get from running too much air pressure.

 

But having a wider tire than recommendation does fit without problems other than that correct? Will the tires shop give me cr@p if I order it and tell them to mount it on there....or will they flat out tell me it wont work?
