Saw them on 4wheelparts.com. Looks pretty agressive for an All Terrain version. New X-Treme All Terrain

They look pretty good. I haven't read any test on them or talked to anyone with a set.

I am REALLY considering buying a set before the end of the month, esp. since they are 4 for 3 right now!

I think they look real good for an All Terrain, especially if they get great mileage on the road and perform off-road as well as they look like they could. Only thing that sucks is the sizes.. Wish they had 285's.

* - Is 33/12.5/17 the same thing as 285/70/17?

Wandell will probably reply with the most correct answer, but I plan on putting the 305/65/17 on my truck. I'm told this size will fit and I will probably make adjustments to my torsion bars.

A 305/65/17 is a 32.61/65/70, so your 285 would be well under a 33

a 285/70R17 is 33" in diameter, but only about 11.5" wide.

Right, a 285/70-17 works out to be a 33x11.50-17. A 305/65-17 works out to be a 33x12.50-17

so would those fit on the stock 17" wheel? Or are they too wide?

Yeah, a 305/65-17 will fit on a 17x7.5 inch wheel. It is a 1/2 inch narrower wheel than recommended, but they will work. Running a tire on a narrower than recommended wheel can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal however. Similar to the wear you would get from running too much air pressure.

Wandell, what converts to a 33x12.50 or 34x12.50 for a 20" rims? Can I fit both of these with a leveling kit on an 05'?

Nitto makes the Terra Grappler in 305/50-20 (32x12.50-20) and 305/55-20 (33x12.50-20). You should be able to fit both of those sizes with the right rim and a leveling kit.

except for the sidewall tread those procomps look like dunlop radial rovers. try discount tire direct for the terra grapplers. i was browsing yesterday and i saw that the 305/70/16 went down to $135 each. I paid $150 a piece 8 monthes ago and that still was pretty cheap. They are great tires for the price. actually they are great tires despite the price. I would definelty consider them if you want an all-terrain tire.

the lack of white letters is the one complaint i have with the nittos. i have a black truck and without white letters its just too much black in my opinion. i dont blame you for wanting that.
