Just purchased a set of MB Motoring Smoothie Chrome wheels for the F150. Size is 18x9. I am now looking for a off-road/ allterrain looking tire to fit it. Im not looking for larger tire, in fact Im looking for one of the smaller (meaning not as tall) tires in a size that will fit on the 18x9. What sorta options would I have?

 

Nitto makes a 325/60-18 (34x13.50) and a 285/60-18 (32x11.50).

 

Would a 275/65/18 work? Is there some kinda table or something that shows this information?

Check out this calulator. 33-34" tires will fit on those rims w/o a lift.

 

That calulator helps some, but it doesnt show the hieght with the rim. I went out to the truck a measured a 32inch tall tire, and I dont see that working. I found a 30.5 inch tire 265/60/18 in the BFGoodrich longtrail but cant find out if thats gonna work on a 9inch wide rim. I didnt see a place there for rim width to be factored in. For instance, if that tire would work on a 18x9 rim it would be shorter than on a 18x8 rim because the tire is being spread over a shorter width correct??

 

Rim width has a very, very small effect on the tires overall height. Also, tires are measured unmounted by the tire manufacturers so you don't have the variables of rim width, vehicle weight, air pressure, etc. You can check the tire manufacturers website to find out what rims are approved for each size.
