Need advice on wheel spacer

I took the plung and bought some Centerline wheels for my '02 Supercrew. I opted for the 16" wheels thinking I could use my current tires for another couple of years. Well I went for a dry run and put the wheels on the truck to check the fit. They fit fine but when I rotated them the brake caliper rubbed the inside of the wheel right on the edge. After some thought on using spacers I determined that an 1/8th inch spacer would keep the wheel from rubbing. My concern is not only the use of spacers but what might happen down the road, I don't have much stud left if at some time I need new thicker spacers for some reason. I guess I'm looking for some thoughts on the subject but as I write this I think I already know the answer... returm the wheels and wait till I need the 17".
