Tire Shops

Just a suggestion: Before you take your truck into a tire shop when your going to have new tires mounted, take the Manager by the hand and have him look over your truck for any body, and wheel damage, because if the Tire Mechanic does damage your truck in anyway when he mounts the tires, they will always say, "That Damage Was There Before We Changed The Tires" and ur stuck and can't prove it. Even if your right, the burden of proof is on you.

Yep, but if you can prove him wrong, the courts will make him pay. Try reminding him that he needs to make it right or you will no longer be a customer and you will be sure to tell 10's of thousands of your friends on F150 Online. Mistakes happen, but they should make it right.

tires

Dear wandell , but you have to pay for a Lawyer, legal fees, take time off work, is it less expensive to pay for or let the damage go? The bad part about it, is that you still have to prove that someone else did you wrong, they shift the burden of proof on you, and no business cares if they lose a customer anymore, when i tell them that, they just laugh at me. Every business out there is a scumbag business anymore, and most independent tire shops don't care if they lose a customer. When that happened to me, what surprized me was is the owner got mean to me, even when i was friendly to him, he called me dirty names, called me a liar, and told me to leave his property or he will have me arrested. I could have proved him wrong, but the cost of the Lawyer exceeded the damage, so i paid to have it repaired.

MotoF150; I beg to differ that all business dosn't care. I have found just the opposite to be true in most cases. I too have found the businesses that don't treat their customers right, but I don't go back. When I find a winner I stick with them.
I'm sorry for your bad experience. You might try reporting them to the better business brueau. When word gets out they might not be around for long.

I don't about Penn., but in Ga. you can sue for up the $5000 in small claims court. You don't have to have an attornery and the cost to file suit is only around $50, which you can include in the damages you request. Also, remember in civil court you don't have to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt like in criminal court.

I'm pretty sure he was just giving a suggestion to prevent having to go through the headache of having to haul someone to small claims court...

Definate a good suggestion Moto!

Well I too have had one of those small business destroy me to no end. But my delima was with gauges. And what a headache that was, like, to the point that it took me 2 weeks to get teh truck even back from the shop because nobody was ever there. But I have found that places like Discount Tire Co are respectable places. Independent tire places scare me, so I don't trust them. Try getting some name brands that have a reputation of doing good. They're less likely to attack
