Question ABS Disabled???

I have had the ABS disconnect itself in the Ford 2003 while in adverse conditions, snow and using 4x4 lots, the light comes on and they quit working, Yahoo for that, as I have drove a long time ,semi and reg. trucks cars etc. gravel and highway rain or shine, ABS is not the perfect solution to professional drivers, yes its great for panic stricken operators of vehicles who lock up in a stress situation. The down side for me is on gravel they will cause you an accident long before they prevent one. But the question to you all is how to disable them on a 2004 ½ton 4x4? It can be doen like the DRL and the seatbelt noise maker.
Please advise.
