'98 Expedition Wheels on '99 F150?

Hi guys. Truck is new to me. '99 Supercab 4X4 4.6 Long Bed. The stock tires seem pretty small. I understand the performance issues with going to a taller tire, but I mainly will be using the truck to haul motorcycles and ATVs around. I don't mind if the speedo needs to be recalibrated, and I won't be doing any heavy towing. I believe I have the stock 3.55 gearing. I found a deal on some used 265/70/17 Expedition wheels. ($275 for four, rims and Goodyear tires, local pickup). Will these work ok on my truck, or should I stick with the stock rims and upgrade the tires? I'm on a low budget, so the package deal may be my only option if you guys approve.
Thanks!

Btw Love this site!!

Thanks for the reply. I just put them on and it looks great
The only thing I'm concerned about is the gearing. A guy at the local garage was telling me I would mess up my rear end. Is this true? I'm thinking if it gets messed up, then I can upgrade to lower gearing. I plan to do it eventually, but it sounds like it will cost in the range of $1200. Will I be ok for now as long as I don't hammer it too much and avoid towing?
Thanks,
Mike

You will be fine. How does the guy at the local garage explain the 100's of thousands of 97-03 F-150 4x4's that came stock with 3.55 gears and 265/70-17's? Are they in danger of tearing up their rear ends? It's not like you installed a set of 40 inch tall tires.
