Considering 265-70-17 to 245-70-17

I am considering changing my tires from a 265-70-17 to a 245-70-17. Can someone please let me know how much if any this will effect the odometer, mileage and performance? I have a 4.6 v8 and it is a 1997 4x4 ext. cab. I would like to get better performance from the smaller tires. I assume it would have more power?

I really don't think an inch is gonna make enough difference for you to notice.

circumference change

-3.5% difference. Why do you want to make this change? Are you trying for a "gearing" change? Your odometer and speedometer would be off that amount; just about 3 mph @ 70 mph.
