how big?

I have a '97 f150 and i wanted to know if anyone knows how big of a tire i can put on my stock suspension and stock 16 in rims and have enough clearance so they do not rub or hit anything?

Also what does anyone think of add-a-leaf springs kits, i dont have much money and thats about the most i can afford?

If you do not want to rub at all, and use the stock 16x7 wheels, I'd suggest 265/75-16's if you have a 4x2. If you have a 4x4, I'd suggest a 285/75-16. You can fit a larger tire but you will probably have some minor rubbing off road and need to trim you front bumper's lower plastic valance slightly for clearance.
