Size change - yes or no?

The orginal (265/70R-17 ) tires need replacement - Going with "Goodyear Fortera HL" .

Should I go with the stock size or switch to the 255/75 - 17 ?

The diameter will be the same .

Thanks

In this case no, because the height of the tire is the same. If you go to a taller tire you will notice a loss of accelaration because of the affect on your overall gear ratio. How much depends on how much taller you go and which powertrain you have. In other words, a owner with a 5.4 can go with a much taller tire without any adverse affects on drivability than an owner with a V6.
