Hi OPIE,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I did notice the difference in the weight that both the Revos and the BFG's could handle. Funny how the SL can carry a bit more than the C load.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that the Load C range has a tougher sidewall. I believe they are 6 ply tires. Not sure what the Revos are however.

Its good to know that you have used your Revos in all conditions, it makes me definitely want to lean towards getting a set for my Screw.

I have read a lot of good things about the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. I was just wondering if any of you guys out there that actually run these tires can gimme some pros/cons about em. I see they are rated number one on tirerack.com for an AT tire.

Also, are there any other brands that I should be looking at? I drive pretty much all on road and just do lil bit of offroad driving.

I think for now I am just gonna keep the stock size of 265/70-17.

Thanks for any/all replys.

I have the A/T Revos on my 97 F150 4x4. Best truck tire I ever had. I've had Goodyears, Kelley's and Bridgestone Duelers M/T, A/T and now the A/T Revos. I've had 2 pickups and 2 4x4 Grand Cherokees.

I got around 80,000 miles on my Chevy 1500 with the original A/T Duelers. About 30,000 with the M/T Duelers because I was going deaf. My Son's Jeep only got about 30,000 with the A/T Duelers.

The A/T Revos cost much more but much better wet and dry traction. Less hydroplaning. The tire appears to be wearing extremely well. I have around 35,000 miles on them and they look new. They out perform the originals on snow also. I bought the 4 mail order mounted on new ARE aluminum wheels. I also went oversize as much as I could go. They rub the mud guards when you turn the wheel.

I have also put complete new sets of Yokohama Geolanders on both my sons Grand Cherokees to see how they hold up. They were cheap to buy but they had good writeups early on. It's too early to make a fair judgement on those tires.

As for the Revos, I have been very pleased and hope to get at least 80,000 miles on those tires. Keep them properly inflated and rotated.

You should also consider the BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Toyo Open Country AT's and the standard Bridgestone Dueler AT's. These are probably the best available all terrian tires. You can't go wrong with any of the above tires.
Wandell.. I postd on FTW also.. what are your thoughts for tires on F150 XLT w/ 16" but 2WD.. I drive alot in mountains in NC, and though normally not in snow.. alot of rain. Also, don't do any offroad (unless you count parking in a field for Indian Princess campout with my daughter

WAYNE,
2WD OR 4 WD REALLY SHOULD NOT MAKE THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE WHEN BUYING A/T'S YOU JUST WON'T HAVE THAT FRONT PULL FROM THE 4WD. YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT DUELLER REVOS, FIRESTONE DESTINATIONS, BFG AT KO'S, COOPER ALSO HAS A NEW TIRE OUT IN THE DISCOVERE LINE, SST'S OR SSR'S I CAN'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW. JUST MY .02 WORTH.

wanting to get me some 305/70/16 once my summit trail climber ct's wear out. any recommendation on tires at that size. have 315/75/16's now but going to go a little smaller i think because in a sharp turn if i hit a real good bump or a pothole or something they tend to rub a little. Also thinking on going to an all terrain tire instead of the tires i have now. They just do not seem to do as good as the badyears I had on my ranger.

You may want to look into Bridgestone duellers or the new Firestone destinations. I have a set of Destinations on now and so far love them.

I do not tow and rarely carry heavy loads, just as an fyi.

Please if someone can help me out here, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jag,
My personal opinion on this subject is. If your not towing alot or hauling hevy loads all the time you really can get by with just a standard rated tire. Also your standard tire will have somewhat of a better ride than a say c or d rated tire. I personally run a passenger rated tire and i frequently haul a full load of wood on my reg. cab long bed truck. I have never had any trouble at all. Unless your going to be doing some off-road driving on trails or something to that effect or towing alot you can run a standard rated tire with no problem. Just my .02 worth.
